My name is Morgan and I have created this blog to combine the two things I am passionate about the most: travel and the environment.
I live a nomadic lifestyle, exploring our incredible world, seeking new adventures and reveling in the beauty of new experiences.
The life of a gypsy.
It was whilst studying at university that I began to look around me and realise that I didn’t want the typical life that everyone expected I should have.
I didn’t want to buy a house and live the Australian dream, graduate from university and work for the next 25 years of my life in a job I wasn’t 100% happy in.
I wanted to see the world, travel, have new adventures, find out more about myself and this big wide world we live in and create the life that I knew I could live.
I packed up, sold, donated everything that I owned: with only a few small boxes remaining in my parents shed.
Everything that I own in this world fits into a 60L backpack.
I live frugally, minimally, and instead of always seeking new possessions I seek new experiences and revel in the freedom of having little physically.
From studying abroad in Ireland and Greece, to interning in Jakarta, volunteering in Peru, Bolivia, learning Spanish in Colombia and travelling to Antarctica as an Antarctic Youth Ambassador I want to share how you too can travel the world easily from the things that I have learnt.
Not only am I passionate about travel and getting to know other cultures, people and places but I also care deeply about our earth and our environment.
With this blog I want to promote sustainability, eco living and responsible travel as my way of spreading awareness about the need to live more sustainably.
Not only do I want to inspire more people to live a sustainable and eco friendly life to protect our planet but I want to inspire more people to travel and see the world.
To connect themselves to our beautiful earth.
To reveal running barefoot with salt in their hair and their pocessions on thier back.
The EcoBackpacker is someone with soul, with connection, with spirit and with passion.
So lets explore this beautiful world and be eco conscious together!
